Adding a dynamic flash banner to your wordpress blog.

PHP No Comments

If you want to use a dynamic banner in your blog follow the steps below.  A friend of mine has a photography site and he wanted to be able to just upload some images and have the banner scroll through them. If you want to take a quick look check out the site.

Ok so you want to add a similar banner to your site here is what you need to do.

Download the files that create the flash banner from here.

Place the unzipped files within your wordpress folder for example \wordpress\banner\.

Edit the slideshow.xml by adding filenames or removing them.

Go to http://kimili.com/plugins/kml_flashembed and download the Kimili Flash Embed plugin.

Once you have installed the plug in, add the path to the banner.swf file and also add the height and width of the banner. You will need to add a simple line of code to the header.php file in the theme you are currently using.

<?php endif; ?>
/* code goes here */
<nav id="access" role="navigation">

Save the changes and your done.

Font Catalogue Custom.

I have to appologies for the delay but after loosing 500Gig of data I’ve been a bit busy. I have a new version of font catalogue available. This version not only allows you to enter custom text but select just the In Design font folder as the font source and also create any page size you wish.

1. Enter your own custom text or leave as default “the quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog “.
2. Select to exclude system fonts. This will allow you to create a catalogue of only the fonts in your In Designont folder.
3. Create your own page size, A1, A2, A3, Landscape, Protrait etc.

Download from adobe exchange.

Please feel free to let me know if you have any issues.

OK after a few requests, I have added a dialog that will pop up pre-populated with the line “the quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog”

Just replace the default text with your custom text and click the OK button.

The script will start to build a catalogue.
